HOW CAN WE REDUCE POLLUTION IN MADRID?

These are the ideas that students from 1º C shared in order to reduce Madrid's pollution:

RUBBISH MANAGING
- Rubbish trucks could be electrical and have several containers to make recycling easier.
- People could get paid for recycling.
- There should be more garbage bins.
- Making people pay for throwing rubbish on the street.
- Trash could be transformed into fuel directly in the container.
- Electric sun fuelled car that collects rubbish from the floor.

SOURCES OF ENERGY
- Electrical supply should rely on solar pannels and energy generated by people riding bikes.
- There would be many air turbines to generate electric energy.
- We could waste less energy for heating systems, and use more warm cloths and duvets instead.

MEANS OF TRANSPORT
- Flying electric cars.
- Electric public bikes should be cheaper and more abundant.
- People would drive many more bikes.
- People should never steal public bikes.
- There should be more electric cars.

TAKING CARE OF NATURE
- Every family should only be allowed to buy a certain amount of meat/fish throughout the week.
- There would be an alarm system on sea waters to warn about water pollution. This would protect fish.
- There would be a water cleaning robot for seas and rivers.
- We would have urban orchards for people to grow their own food.
- Shared books libraries to reuse books.
- Buildings could be made of recycled materials.

AIR POLLUTION
- Factories wouldn't produce any smoke but just steam.
- There would be many more trees.
- There should be more adds to prevent people from smoking.
- In the most polluted areas of the city, cars should be forbidden (only bikes allowed).
- Smoking should be forbidden.
- Smoke from factories would be filtered and condensed so it could be used for something else.
- Harmful gases could pass through an air transformer that would produce good gases to repair the ozone layer.
- There would be a special Pollution Police unit.
- Every house would have a green terrace to increase the number of plants in the city.
- Buildings could have pollution filters on their façades.
